Cisco Systems acquired Navini networks, This looks more a strategic decision of extending its portfolio to wimax networks. Another big hit for Wimax is ITU approved the IEEE 802.16 (now officially called IEEE Std 802.16-2004).
Expect Big wimax networks soon :-)
